Looking for a fast and easy way to get your required vegetable intake? This smoothie is highly nutritious, easy to make, and more that satisfies the vegetable requirements for each meal. Due to the high fiber content, it also provides a wonderful 'cleansing' effect. I have been drinking this smoothie every morning for the past four months or so (long before 4HB) , and it just happened to fit right into the diet plan. Enjoy!

Servings
Ingredients
- 1/2 cucumber sliced
- 2 cups kale chopped
- 2 medium celery stalks chopped
- 1 cup frozen spinach
- 1 teaspoon powdered greens supplement Green Superfood, Athletic Greens, etc.
- 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon and/or nutmeg
- 5 ice cubes
Optional Ingredients
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tablespoon ginger root chopped
Directions
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high until smooth. I recommend adding the ingredients in the exact order listed, as this typically removes the need to tamp the ingredients down into the blade. Try adding kale first and you’ll see what I mean. Makes roughly 24oz.
The result will resemble the bright-green ectoplasm from Ghostbusters, but it’s quite yummy. If you find the kale makes it too bitter, add about half a packet of artificial sweetener or 1/4 cup frozen blackberries or mango if you’re making it on cheat day. On days that I’m really in a hurry, I simply add 1 scoop of whey protein to the mix to satisfy protein requirements.
