10 Minute Taco Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 can corn
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1/2-1 lb ground beef
  • taco seasoning or other spices, based on preference

Directions

1. Cook 1/2-1 pound of beef in a skillet with a small, diced onion.
2. Transfer to a large pot and add: 3 Cans beans (I like kidney, black, and chili beans) 1 Can Diced Tomatoes 1 Can Tomato Sauce 1 Can Corn and about 2 Tbls. taco seasoning, or to taste.
3. Heat thoroughly and eat!

Notes:
1. In lieu of taco seasoning, you can add cumin, garlic, salt, curry powder, and chili powder.
2. There is no need to drain any of the canned foods.

    Delicious! I used three typed of beans- kidney, black, & chili. I drained the tomatoes but kept the rest of the fluids. It is a little salty (each can contributes some sodium), especially with normal taco seasoning. May be able to cut the salt by either draining the beans, rinsing, and adding water to keep it from getting too thick.

    I would seriously suggest rinsing all the beans, since they all have sugar in the syrup to store the beans. I left out the corn, but also used the kidney, black and chili beans. Also, I used the different spices instead of taco seasoning, but included cayenne pepper to give it an extra kick. It was SO delicious.
